You’re floating up a hillside in a hot air balloon. You’ve brought a lot of heavy baggage with you. A slight wind stirs and the balloon wobbles. It begins sinking downward. You see the problem. You’ve overloaded the basket with too much baggage.
You know what to do. You toss some baggage overboard. The balloon begins to rise steadily once again. You toss out some more. The balloon gains greater height. You’re traveling upward, smoothly once again.
What the heck! You toss out the last of your excess baggage. The balloon floats steadily to the top of the hill. You’re at your destination in no time.
