Well here we are again, my fellow “everyday, ordinary, unassuming guru” seeking community members. All of this stuff of which we speak is about consciousness. Have you noticed that? Unexpected gurus who drop by to say “HI” simply awaken you to something that elevates your consciousness. Colby asks a question that can help all of us notice ourselves a little better. It’s all about consciousness.
Hi Mr White
My friends call me a people pleaser. They say I try too hard to be liked by everyone. What’s a people pleaser in your opinion?
Thank you for being my unassuming guru, Colby
The person who lives to please others (a people pleaser), lives under a false assumption. He thinks there is value in compliments that come from others. In fact, he thinks his value as a human being is predicated on such compliments.
A people pleaser thinks he can escape the agony of his own sense of inadequacy by pleasing others and getting them to compliment him.
If that is why you like to please others, then perhaps there is something there that you should look at.
There is incredible power when one lives with quiet contentment with oneself, Colby. You come and go as you please. You have far less concern for what others think of you, and you have great concern for what you think of yourself.
What do you think, Colby … are you a people pleaser or are you just a nice person who likes to be pleasing?
Blessings to you Colby … Rob
One wrong practice oftentimes leads to another wrong practice. People pleasing is a wrong practice that often leads to scheming to get others to like you. You’re not doing that are you? I used to, years ago!
Blessings & Love, Rob
