Hello all of you “ordinary guru” seeking tribe members. I love a nice, simple question that gets to the gut of the matter. Do you? Maureen (below) gets right to it.
Hi Mr White
If I was just born, and you were to give me just one tip on how to live a full life, what would that tip be? I know I’d be an infant so I wouldn’t understand you, but let’s assume I could understand you.
Any ideas? Maureen
If you were just born and capable of understanding what I would share with you – here it is. Here’s the one tip I would give you: Don’t hesitate to abandon yourself over and over again. Do it for your whole lifetime, not just for the first few years of your life. You’ve got to die of who you are, if you are to be born again and again into something wonderfully new.
The crawler dies of being a crawler in order to walk. The mutterer dies of being a mutterer in order to talk. The illiterate child dies of being an illiterate in order to read and write. When does it stop? It shouldn’t stop. Dying is an essential part of truly living.
For most of us, by age twelve, we pretty much stick to what we’ve got at that point in life. We stop dying, and we begin walking through life with cement shoes on. Don’t quit. Keep on dying so you can keep on growing. Cast off those cement shoes!
Great question Maureen; I love it.
Blessings to you, Rob
Trust your own intelligence. You know when it’s time to die of being who you are stuck with. Abandon that whining and blaming self. There’s no other way to go if you want to travel first class through life.
Blessings & love to all of you, Rob
PS Be true to your own nature. Your nature is to die constantly so you may continually live and blossom brightly.
