Hello my fellow “everyday, ordinary, unassuming guru” seeking friends.
Sometimes the path of spirituality will make things seem more difficult than they are. Life is supposed to be easy. That’s why life is forever sending you ordinary gurus to help you on your life-journey. Josh inquires into a matter that those who seek a spiritual life often ponder. (see below)
Hi Mr. White
I hear the word enlightenment in spiritual circles. I’m not sure what it really means to be enlightened, even though I pretend to know. Can you help me out with this so I feel more comfortable with conversations about enlightenment?
Thank you, Josh
Let’s have some fun with this word enlightenment. In the end you will understand all that you truly need to understand about the idea of being enlightened. You cannot have an experience of “up”, if “down” does not exist. Right, Josh? Well, it’s the same with experiencing enlightenment. We need polarity (a field of opposites), if we are to experience one end of the stick or the other. After all, there are no one-ended sticks, are there.
Okay so let’s look at enlightenment by also looking at endarkenment.
Enlightenment is really nothing more than lightening up – taking life a little more easily. We find that we are living effectively when we respond to life with enlightened power in our activity. That requires a consciousness of confidence and an aware of life as sufficiency (not insufficiency). I suppose you could just call that a positive attitude if you want to. When you demonstrate your power to create, constructively – you find your actions are smooth and the results you seek come quickly. That is an enlightened state.
So what is the opposite of living in an enlightened state? It’s endarkenment. Endarkenment is really nothing more than taking everything too personally and making life heavy. When we have endarkened power in our activity, we are wasteful and destructive. We find that we react to life ineffectively.
Enlightenment is a regenerative force.
Endarkenment is a degenerative force.
It is easy to empower someone who seeks a joyful and peaceful life. That’s enlightenment.
It is equally as easy to disempower someone who seeks revenge. That’s endarkenment.
Blessings to you Josh, Rob
Where would you run to in order to escape the fire of hell than to the heart? Rub your eyes and awaken. Enlightenment is a normal state of being when you live your life from your heart.
Love & Blessings to all of you, Rob
Ps All that is enlightened is incorporated into your essence. That which is endarkened comes from taking on a “poor me,” victim mentality.
