I love “unassuming gurus,” don’t you? What better way is there for all of us “ordinary guru” seekers to learn new lessons than to allow such gurus to drop a clue or two? Even the preacher in Blazing Saddles may just be such a guru. (see below)
Can I ask you a question? There is a local clergyman in my community that is all hell and fire when it comes to condemning everyone for the sins they’ve committed. Yet, it seems to me that he isn’t doing anything to make things better. He just seems to yell and complain a lot. I don’t know what to make of it. What do you think?
Thanks for your input, Ramirez
Years ago, there was a movie made called Blazing Saddles. There is a scene in that movie where the local preacher is about to bless the men before they go off to battle. Suddenly, he looks up to the sky and says, “Oh God, are we really doing the right thing here or are we just jerking off?” (pardon the language).
Well it seems that perhaps your local preacher thinks he’s doing the right thing by being so fiery about the sins being committed by man, but is he really helping? Or is he, in fact, just jerking off (getting all excited about nothing)?
You asked me what I think. That’s what comes to mind for me.
Blessing to you Ramirez, Rob
Go ahead and get yourself all worked up over something that’s not working in your life. But, for heaven’s sake, don’t think that all that energy is going to change anything, unless it is properly directed. Right?
Blessings & love to all of you, Rob
PS Nature is generous and calm, and is able to turn the impurities of man’s greedy nature into beauty and purity. What can man learn from that?
