Hello fellow “unassuming guru” seeking community members,
Sometimes unassuming gurus are so ‘in our face’ that we just don’t notice. Marlena helps us to notice that (see below).
Hi Mr. White
I’m fifteen, and my mother calls me a stubborn mule. She says I don’t learn from my mistakes because I am so stubborn. My older brother agrees with her. I respect him very much. I feel stuck. My brother told me to ask you.
Thank you for telling me what you think, Marlena
Your ability to learn will grow in proportion to your ability to notice that you are so stubborn that you refuse to learn. If you just notice that, you will be amazed at how quickly you will begin learning what you need to know so you can evolve and grow. Really, that is about all that needs be said about this. It seems to me that perhaps your mother is onto something with her advice.
Blessings to you, Rob
Self-honesty defeats self-deceit. You are deceiving yourself when you insist you’ve learned all there is to learn or there’s nothing to learn from a certain situation. There’s always one more lesson if you’re willing to look.
Willingness requires letting go of stubbornness. Stubbornness begets self-deceit. Willingness begets self-honesty.
Blessings & love to all of you, Rob
PS Do you know what hell is, amongst other things? It is stupid stubbornness.
