Hey fellow “everyday guru” seeking friends,
There will be times when you will get weary. That’s just part of the game of life. You cannot avoid it. But you can help yourself, and one way to do that is to be on the lookout for an “unassuming guru” who is passing your way to help you. Don’t forget that, okay? Maureen is getting weary with her anger habit (see below).
Hi Mr. White
You’ve blogged on anger before. Can you give me one more tip that may help me with my anger fits. I can get so stupidly outraged and say the dumbest things for no reason. What can you suggest to help me get a grip on this? Any tip will do.
Thank you, Maureen
There are a lot of ways to handle your “quick to anger” habit. Let me give you one way. The next time you catch yourself over-reacting, the next time you find yourself sizzling with anger – STOP. Stop right there and wonder about it. Get real curious about it.
Ask yourself in a really curious manner, “Wow, why am I taking this matter so seriously?” Just by asking a question like that, and asking it that way, something curious will happen. You will see your anger in a different way. You will begin to see that you’ve got the matter all about me, me, me! You are insisting on being right about your point of view. As you notice that, your anger will begin to subside enough so you can respond more civilly.
Give it a try, Maureen. See what happens. It can’t hurt, right?
Blessings to you Maureen, Rob
You will never break free of bad habits, like the anger habit, until you get sick and tired of being held hostage by your habit. Enough is enough already. Get curious. Get real curious about the habit. Look right at it with wonder. Watch what happens.
Blessings & love to all of you, Rob
PS Genuine help awaits to help you right now if you’re willing to help yourself.
