Hey “everyday, ordinary, unassuming guru” community members … let’s look at another reason gurus come into our lives frequently. Nora gets the ball rolling with her inquiry (below)
Hi Mr. White
I have a question for you. What does it mean, Mr. White, to be slumbering through life? I read a quote that said most people are slumbering though life. Is that me? Am I one of them? What do you do to wake up?
Any ideas? Thanks, Nora
Imagine you have a friend who is slumbering (taking a nap), on the couch. You whisper in his or her ear, “We’ve got to get out of here; the kitchen stove just caught on fire.” What happens? Nothing! Your friend is asleep and you’re whispering. That is the conditioned state of mind of many folks. They sleep-walk throughout their lives. They don’t notice when ordinary gurus come their way to whisper something important in their ear; something that would benefit their health and welfare.
In the above case, with your friend, you shake them awake for their own good. Well, as a rule, ordinary guru’s don’t shake you awake. You’ll miss their good advice if you’re not paying attention to their wise whisperings. By being aware of your own personal sleep-walking condition, you become alert to everyday gurus who come your way. I hope that helps.
Blessings Nora … Rob
Are you awake? Are you alert to life’s many wake-up calls? The purpose of a wake-up call is to help you with your next breakthrough so you can get on with doing what you really want to do? That’s what everyday, ordinary, unassuming gurus do for you.
Blessings & love, Rob
PS If you are to wake up from your slumber, you must become very tired of living your life as you are currently living it.
