Hello, hello, hello my fellow “ordinary guru seekers.”
Why do we often find ourselves doing things we really don’t want to do? That’s a great question for all of us to ask ourselves. Sam has the courage to look directly at himself and notice what he’s doing just ain’t working. That’s the beginning to something fresh and new for Sam – just noticing. Let’s take a look (see below).
Hi Mr White
I am in my thirties. I’ve move to another part of the country. I am starting out new once again. I am meeting new people and bragging about what I have done with my life so far. It’s all exaggerations, but I’m faking it to impress them, hoping there will a contact that can truly help me get to where I want to go. I was told to fake it until I make it, but it doesn’t seem to be working for me so far. Is there anything wrong with that method?
Any insight will do, Sam G.
Indeed it seems that often we have to learn a big pile of stuff that doesn’t really help us succeed in life in order to get to the stuff that does help us succeed in life.
When you do get to the stuff that you need to know so you can succeed in life, it often sounds like gobbledygook; it makes no sense. That’s because it is often the very opposite of what your big pile of information has taught you.
So here is something that you need to know so you can go where you want to go:
One surefire way to block success is to pretend that you are already a success, and doing it to impress.
When you play that role, you become the jailed one and the jailer. You become a prisoner of the script you’re playing.
You know that you’re pretending. You know it’s only a role you’re playing. You know that you’ve not really succeeded with what you’re bragging about. Big problem!
That role reinforces, in your subconscious, that the only success you are able to beget is pretend-success. Knowing that affects your attitude and mood in adverse way; the result of which is more frustration and failure.
Be invigorated by small impulses of rightness that pass through you frequently, Sam. They do pass through you. Really! Pay attention to them. Let those urges direct you. They will not steer you wrong.
Blessings to you Sam ……. Rob
Are you telling me that you’ve not fallen prey to some false way that promised happiness and success? How might you apply this lesson to you?
Become your own best pupil by teaching yourself a lesson from this.
Be your own best guru. What might it be for thee?
Blessings and Love, Rob
PS – Built within everyone is a natural urge to win. Those who do win simply pay more attention to their urges. Those who don’t win pay attention to schemes offered by the masses.
