What do you say? Are lots of ordinary gurus coming your way? They are; the real question is, “Are you letting them in?” The conditioned mind is blind when gurus pass by. Beware! Neville asks a great question about rebelling when you’re stuck with old conditions because of old conditioning. (see below)
I just took a weekend seminar on breaking free of old conditioning. The weekend was about inner rebellion. I’d like your take on that.
By the way, I love your name. Okay, let’s look at inner rebellion. My experiences with breaking free of my old mechanical ways of being required that I step up to higher levels of freedom. And I did that by saying “YES” to rebellion. I was rebelling FOR new behavior to replace old emotional patterns that had me reacting to life like a puppet on a string. I was not rebelling AGAINST the old conditioning – that would only strengthen it. I assume you get the difference.
Stimulus-response. Stimulus-response. Stimulus-response; that’s me when I am dancing like a puppet on a string to familiar triggers in my life. That’s what conditioning is – stimulus-response, stimulus-response, stimulus-response. There is a point when “enough is enough already,” and indeed it is time to stand up for yourself. You are tired of enslavement to old reactions and you decide to do something about it. That is a pivotal moment.
As you mentioned, the rebellion takes place in your inner world. Victory on the inside will show up as triumph on the outside. To rebel successfully, you must be willing to see things differently. You must awaken your awareness to your mechanicalness, and consciously interrupt the old pattern by noticing your reactiveness and intervening with a new response.
There are many ways to rebel. I hope this gives you some clarity. With clarity, the right way will come to you.
Blessings Neville ….. Rob
What might you rebel FOR?
What would you like to change in your life?
What old habit is stopping you from feeling fully alive and taking new chances?
Always rebel constructively, not destructively.
Blessings & Love, Rob
PS It is an evasion of responsibility to react to life emotionally. That leaves you a machine. You are a superlatively creative being. Never forget that. Never!
