Hello fellow “everyday, ordinary, unassuming guru” seekers. Tom is lucky that he has found a guru that is available every day if he wants that guru to be. (see his letter below).
Hi Mr. White
My father likes to tell me that there is a law of attraction. He says that we get what we think about the most. I consider my father my every day guru, but I don’t get this law of attraction thing. My father likes to read your blogs, so I thought I’d ask you what you think. It doesn’t seem to work for me.
Thank you Tom
I love that your father is your everyday guru, especially since you see him every day (I assume). You get to tap into his wisdom daily. What a gift that you are aware of that.
Regarding the Law of Attraction, let me tell you a story.
A young man was kidnapped and taken to an island to work as a farm hand. It seemed nearly impossible for him to escape because there were sharks in the ocean and the only canoes available were closely guarded by the council of elders, which happened to consist of the men that kidnapped him.
This young man, while roaming around the island on his time off, found a river with a strong current that ran into the sea. He began putting a message into coconut shells in which he bored a tiny hole. The message said, “Help me; I am on the tiny island with the big coconut trees.” He would toss a new note in a coconut at every opportunity, and he was convinced that the more notes he sent the greater was the possibility of being rescued. After he’d sent the 100th note, he felt certain that something great was going to happen.
Then one day, shortly thereafter, the young man saw a ship approaching. He ran to the beach yelling with delight, “I’m over here!” It was a rescue party. Hallelujah! The young man was rescued and taken back home.
Now, I ask you Tom … was it actually the notes in the coconuts that rescued the young man or was it his attitude that tapped into The Law of Attraction, which is always in action? When he convinced himself that he would be rescued, he admitted that something shifted within him. I ask you, Tom, what would have happened had he not believed he’d have been rescued? What might he have done differently? Hmmm.
What does the above have to do with you?
Do you believe that what you vibrate you attract?
Is it possible that what you feel is absolutely true
has more to do with what happens to you
than what you do about it?
Or do your feeeelings and actions
work in harmony with one another?
The truth speaks a language
that is natural to your heart,
not your head.
What do you feeeeel
about all of this?
Blessings and Love to all of you, Rob
PS – There are powerful and there are impotent cries for help. If you feeeel your cry will give you results – it is powerful. If you feeeel your cry is wasted energy – it is.
