God, I love it when someone dares to ask a very simple question. Oftentimes the simplicity opens the door for remarkable clarity. Mitch asks just such a question about his “ordinary guru” seeking endeavors.
Hi Mr. White
What is it that an everyday, unassuming, ordinary guru helps me to do. I am not sure I quite understand. I hope I don’t sound too stupid here.
Thank you, Mitch M
The only stupid question is the question not asked; that’s because it’s stupid not to ask it. Never let anyone convince you to stop asking question because you look stupid by asking. How are you to learn if you don’t ask? I love your question. Let’s go at it:
Imagine, Mitch that you’re a small child and a powerful authority figure hands you a pair of glasses. On one of the lenses of the glasses is written in indelible ink – FEAR. On the other lens is written DOUBT. Imagine you are told that you have to wear these glasses for the rest of your life, and if you look through the lens of FEAR you must react fearfully, and if you look through the lens of DOUBT you must react doubtfully. If you felt compelled to do that – what would your life be like?
Now imagine, one day you meet a kind person who encourages you to take the glasses off. You’ve been wearing them for years so it’s a little scary at first. But you finally do, and immediately you see the whole world very differently. All of a sudden you just know better than to think you always have to react fearfully or doubtfully. You realize now that there are so many more options available to you. What would that be like? That is what “ordinary, unassuming, everyday gurus” help you to do – they help you to stop looking at life through the lenses of fear and doubt. They help you to see things differently than what your programmed thinking is allowing for thee.
Blessing, Mitch …. Rob
Have you taken a look at the lenses through which you look at life lately?
Do they offer you the opportunity to see life rightly?
Or are you programmed to look at life fearfully or with great doubt?
These are healthy questions to ask yourself
if you want to help yourself.
Or even if you want to attract an “ordinary guru”
to drop by to help you.
Blessings and Love, Rob
PS Your job is not to change the landscaping of life but to remove the lenses that distort the truth about the landscaping of life – it’s pretty beautiful if you see it rightly.
