How’s the ordinary, everyday guru search going? Are you locating them? They are everywhere! If you seek to find them, they will come to you. And when they come, they will unassumingly offer you answers, perfect answers so you can have that breakthrough you are looking for to begin your life anew.
Brian asks a great question (below). Perhaps there’s something in his inquiry that has to do with you?
I went to a very popular self-help guru weekend event and he told me to believe in myself. I went home and did all I could to take his advice. He gave me a four step way to do that. Is it possible for me to believe in myself? I still feel shaky about trusting I have the answers even after going through the four step formula every day for three months.
Any ideas? Brian K.
Great topic of conversation, and YES you must believe in yourself if you are to make something of yourself in your life. HOWEVER, THE QUESTION IS: WHAT SELF ARE YOU BELIEVING IN? There are two of you (there are two selves that you are dealing with).
There is the authentic you. That self is incredibly talented; it is the zero-limits you.
But, but, but, but, but … there is also the “other self” – the self that you created in childhood moments of fear and pain. That self is fraught with thoughts of lack and limit. You certainly do not want to believe in that self, do you Brian. That’s the self that causes you to feel so unsure and insecure.
The trouble is that most folks don’t know that they are living with two selves, and so they try to improve their lives by improving the “other self” – that self which is all the accumulated illusions of weakness that you hold of yourself. It is impossible to improve that self, Brian. It thrives on your feelings of inferiority; it cannot exist without those feelings.
Begin by understanding that you are a rich and majestic child of Infinite Intelligence, Brian. Work on trusting that fact. Then believing in yourself will become easy, and perhaps the four-step formula you were given can have a positive impact.
Blessings to you, Brian (the authentic you) ……… Rob
Okay folks … what do you think?
Have you ever noticed there are two of you?
Does a bird worry when the tree that he’s perched on begins to fall over?
No, no, no; he has wings and he knows it!
There is no wingless “other self” that the bird identifies with.
Only man can do something that foolish. Stop it!
Blessings and Love, Rob
