Hello my “everyday, ordinary, unassuming guru” seeking friends. The very breath of your soul is found in the sunlight of life, but so often we forget that. You were born to succeed, but wow, can we ever forget that. Often we feel more confused before we see an empowering truth.
Let’s see how that can be. I received this email with permission to share it with all of you.
Mr White, can I ask your opinion on something? I guess I am asking you to be an everyday guru for me and help me with this problem. My father calls me a wreck when he gets angry with me. That seems to be more and more these days. I’m twenty-three and living at home. My mother tells me not to pay attention to him when he says that, but it bothers me. Sometimes he drinks a little too much and that is when I hear it most. It’s starting to get to me.
What would an ordinary guru say to me about this? You can share this on your blog site if you decide to answer it.
Thank you, Jk.
It is a Law of Psychology that when we change our attitude about ourselves we form a very different attitude about those around us. I suspect your father is going through some hard times and he unconsciously is taking it out on you.
According to the above law – when your father no longer sees his life as a wreck, he no longer believes that your life is a wreck, and immediately there is a possibility of a much better relationship. Furthermore, one reason that you are bothered by your father’s behavior, unfortunately, is because you seem to think perhaps there is some truth to what he is saying. No one can harm or insult you unless you allow them to; did you know that? And you allow them to when you consider what they say about you is true. Is that the case here?
No matter how many problems a person may be facing – the biggest problem anyone has, is when he considers his life a wreck. It is curious how he fails to notice this. A total new point of view is needed.
Let’s take a look at you for a moment, JK.
A flower seed was stuck under a large leaf on the north side of an oak tree. The seed felt that its whole life was a wreck; it had no sun to warm it and a heavy leaf that stopped it from stretching upward to the sky. One day a storm came bursting through and blew the leaf off the seed, and the wind also blew the seed into an open meadow. At first the seed was scared. It felt this was a horrible thing that happened because the environment was so different that it didn’t know what to expect. After all, the seed had never been exposed to the world, out in the open like that.
However, it wasn’t long before the seed felt things changing within. It loved the warm sun and took on a very different attitude. Soon thereafter, the seed trusted that it was transforming into something beautiful. That seed became a most gorgeous wild flower that gave the birds and bees much joy to see.
Trust in yourself, Jk.
Trust in life Jk.
You are not a wreck.
You are a heck of a lot more than that.
You are a rich and majestic child of Infinite Intelligence.
Life loves you Jk.
Just a small pivot in your attitude will begin to attract what you are looking for to give you your life back. For that which is boundless in you, awaits to prove itself, Jk. It is ready to blossom. Can you feel it blooming?
Just relax with this story, Jk.
You are a child of open space.
Let your restlessness rest.
Your magnificence and splendor will unfold.
This message is not for the head, Jk.
It’s for the heart.
Don’t go to logic.
Go to intuition.
You grow in understanding when you don’t mind that the logical mind doesn’t understand the growth you are going through.
Hey folks, after reading the above, did you ask, “What’s this got to do with me?” Growth spirts in life occur when you dwell in healthy contemplation.
Blessings and Love to all of you, Rob
