Hello my fellow “everyday, ordinary, unassuming guru” seekers.
How are you this fine Monday morning?
Are you ready to take the next step?
What might that step be for thee?
Here is one of our tribe members with an inquiry that many of you may want to look into.
Can I ask you to be my ordinary, everyday guru? Anger is a big issue with me. I am always getting myself in hot water because of my anger issues. I took a two-day anger management workshop with a well-known self-help guru, but it didn’t do me any good. What do I do next? Any tips?
Thank you for giving this your attention.
Anger is a big issue with a lot of people. Look at how many folks are angry in the world today. Anger is always a result of insisting we are right. If we’re not right then we experience a lessening of our self-esteem, and we cannot bear that. A lot of folks are living with low self-esteem these days.
It seems that anger gives the angry person a cheap thrill that seems to boosts his self-esteem a bit. But does it really? Unfortunately, the feeling is only temporary and so back on the hamster wheel he goes. When you are able to see this one thing about you, William, your anger will subside noticeably.
Just watch your anger the next time it comes over you. Don’t do anything to promote it; don’t try to do anything to diminish it. Just watch it. You’ll be surprised – that energy, which seems so immense, will diminish before your very eyes. It is your habit to glorify your anger that magnifies the energy.
If you mean it, William, that you are sick and tired of being sick and tired of being angry, and you want to do something about it – try what I just suggested.
Blessings to you, Rob
What about the rest of you?
Are you asking, “What’s this got to do with me?”
Maybe sometimes you have anger issues?
Anger is emotional acid; it’ll burn a hole in your stomach if you don’t neutralize it with the quality of flexibility. Act when you are angry, and it’s not the other guy who regrets your anger the most. It is you who drinks the poison, hoping that he will suffer. Strive for truth rather than striving to be right – what a sweet blessing that can be!
Blessings and Love to all of you, Rob
