Happy Holidays to all of you special folks in my life.
Remember, I didn’t have any idea how close we would be until we began sharing our “Ordinary Guru Stories” together on this website.
Oftentimes, I feel inspired just thinking about how our collective consciousness is helping heal the consciousness of humanity. Every contribution matters, doesn’t it?
And so now I present to you a golden truth or two. Perhaps you’ll consider me just an ordinary guy with guru qualities (as are you, too). So, here is my offering to you so that you may live your life true to your dreams.
Years ago when I began to have the faintest glimpse of the fact that life was here to truly support me, I gasped, “Do you mean life ain’t that tough, like I’d heard when I was growing up?” That was the day when I began noticing that ordinary gurus were all around me.
Golden Truth # 1: The first thing one has to do in order to open to wise and intelligent advice is to stop lying to him or her self.
- I had to stop telling myself that I had all the answers.
- I had to stop being a know-it-all.
- I had to let go of my vanity.
- I had to see me for what I was being – a foolish know-it-all.
The next thing I had to do when wise advice came my way – was to welcome feeling scared to admit that I’d been truly messing up.
I had to be willing to let the truth succeed in my consciousness in spite of the many arguments I’d forward to protect my old point of view.
Golden Truth # 2: Bad ideas posing as truth become heavy luggage when you’re taking flight to higher levels of living.
Bad ideas, stuck in one’s belief system, will put up a fight when good ideas come forth to give you flight. If you are to unfold your wings and hit those high notes that you yearn to sing – then it’s time to learn to let go of those bad ideas so new truths can come visit you.
- Be a child again.
- Be delighted that you can learn from your mistakes.
- Be excited to know that the darkness can disappear.
- All you need do is to allow unassuming gurus to offer you the light.
I hope you take a moment to read this blog again. Ask yourself, “How can I apply this to my life?”
Love and blessings to all of you, Rob
