Here’s a miracle-healing formula that will stop you from being cruel to yourself. It’s a three-step formula. It’s simple.
Step 1: Take your life back from those who have stolen it from you. No longer allow yourself to be at the mercy of others who insist they know what’s best for you. When you do what you do in order to please others, you are being cruel to yourself.
Step 2: Pay no attention to anyone who harshly criticizes you, and offers no solutions to help you improve your life. When you take such harsh words seriously, you feel guilty. And, when you feel guilty, it’s impossible to learn anything of value. Thus, you are being cruel to yourself.
Step 3: Beware of those who impose themselves on you by overstaying their welcome and insisting that you do them a favor. When you succumb to their requests, you are violating the sacredness of your self-respect, which is being cruel to yourself.
The sense of self-dignity grows within the person who knows to say, “NO,” to anything that damages his self-respect. You are being cruel to yourself whenever you do something that damages your self-respect.
