It’s time to look at an important word that we love to banter about, but usually use inappropriately. The word is “rapture.” Its original meaning was “to jump out” … to jump out of one’s usual way of being … to jump out of ones’ comfort zone … to jump out of our shell and feel the freedom of jumping into something new. The reason “rapture” gives you an outstanding feeling is because you are standing outside of your usual way of being. The next five blogs will look deeper into the incredible feeling of “rapture.”
When you were born and broke free of the warm secure womb, you entered a fascinating world of infinite variety. You were forced down a long channel, and pushed out of your mom’s body into an environment that was 30 degrees cooler and bright with light. If that wasn’t enough, your life support system was cut (the umbilical cord that connected you to mom). And then you were turned upside down and slapped on your behind. Pure rapture! You were free. And look at you now.
When is the last time you experienced rapture? When is the last time you had the courage to break free? Where would you be? What would you be doing right now if you were to experience rapture?
