When I water the lawn to make it full, rich and green, I have to turn on the faucet to which the hose and sprinkler are attached. If I don’t open the faucet wide enough, the water pressure is weak, the sprinkler malfunctions and the lawn gets parched and dry. My whole system of watering the lawn requires applying proper water pressure.
Now, let’s apply this matter of pressure to my dreams and aspirations. I must water the ‘thought-seeds of success’ that I plant in my field of consciousness if I intend to have them blossom into their physical counterpart in my life. I’ve got to turn on the emotional faucet with feelings of desire and passion. If I do not exert enough pressure on myself, with the feeling of desire and passion, then I find that I do not take the necessary action required to make those thought-seeds sprout in my world and blossom in my life.
Here is One of the Five ways that I turn on my emotional faucet so the feeling of desire and passion exerts the necessary pressure required to motivate me to act effectively.
Positive Pressure Tactic # 1: The Breakfast of Champions
I set aside five minutes every morning before I eat breakfast and get into my day. I take a moment to look at the thought-seeds of success that I am intending to bring to blossom in my life … and I exert pressure by making it clear that my thought-seeds are important to me. I then tell myself why they are important. I complete this step by asking myself, “Do you promise to act in some way today that will nourish your thought-seeds so they can begin sprouting in your life?” I promptly say, “Yes!” This adds just the right amount of pressure I need to eat my Breakfast of Champions cereal and put on my jogging shoes.
