It’s Not What Others Think Of You That Bothers You

012212_express046It’s not the bad things that others say about you that bothers you. It’s what you think about what they think that causes you grave concern.

Perception is power. Learn what there may be to learn from someone’s criticism, but banish any thoughts that make you feel inferior because of what they think. Other peoples harsh judgments can drive you nutty but remember – you don’t have to cooperate.

  1. And why is is that we focus so on that negative comment rather than all the positive ones?! After years of getting glowing student evaluations, I can still remember one very negative one…verbatim! Sigh. But I do know the truth of what you say. I can put it all in perspective and realize that most of what people say about me, good or bad, isn’t really about me anyway–it’s about them.
