Since I have become a regular contributor to the Huffington Post, I have received many emails from folks who seem to imply that there must be more to life than “Valuing WOW over WOE.” For all of you who are new to my unique, motivational conversation, I humbly ask you to consider that; it is indeed simple, but it is not simplistic –– So, let’s keep it simple today!
Let’s take a moment to look at a few of the healthy reasons why valuing WOW (a Wonderful Obsession with Winning) over WOE (What On Earth!?) is a healthy idea.
When you value WOW over WOE, you value winning at life rather than indulging in any “foolish pleasure” that protects your negative point of view.
Ka-Ching! Score 1 for WOW.
When you value WOW over WOE, you look at problems with an eye for solutions rather than reacting fearfully because they shook your emotions.
Ka-Ching! Score 2 for WOW.
When you value WOW over WOE, you can be absolutely sure of one thing ––you no longer play the menacing role of the NO-it-all (when we are NO-it-alls’, we mechanically say “NO” to all that is fresh and new).
Ka-Ching! Score 3 for WOW.
Be aware: A motivational mindset doesn’t come overnight. But the more receptive you are to it, the more you’ll enjoy waking up every morning –– and flipping the switch from WOE to WOW
Student: What’s it take to guarantee choosing WOW over WOE?
Teacher: Know that your usual thoughts and actions cause you to become a NO-it-all; you must therefore find what’s unusual but natural within you.
