Student: “Why do I experience so much misery?”
Teacher: “You are miserable because you have decided to be miserable.”
Very few people live without some form of misery. Misery is a defining quality of most folk’s identity. Believe it or not, misery actually gives most folks a sense of security – they know what to expect today, tomorrow and the next day. Wow, how’s that for insanity! (I know – I’ve been there)
In order to be happy, you must feel productive; you must feel like you have a Raison d’Etre (a meaningful reason for being here). You cannot be happy if you wallow in misery for this reason or that. Do you accept this as true?
If you are to feel that your life has meaning, you must call an MD on the lies that make you feel miserable. That’s right, you must call a Marvelous Denial on every lie that you’ve accepted as true about you that makes you feel insecure and inferior in any way. These lies feed into the feeling of misery.
“I’m too short.” – that’s a lie!
“I’m not smart enough.” – that’s a lie!
“I am simply unfortunate when it comes to love.” – that’s a lie!
“I’m bad at math.” – that’s a lie!
“I was born on the wrong side of the tracks; I can’t win.”– that’s a lie!
When these lies become part of your identity, you cling to them to explain your misery. Eventually the subconscious level of your mind accepts these lies as unchallengingly true, and now you’re screwed.
The prime directive of the subconscious is to maintain the integrity of your identity. This is too big to say only once: the prime directive of the subconscious is to maintain the integrity of your identity. Give that a moment to sink in. When the subconscious believes lies like the above are part of who you are, it does everything in it’s power (and it has a lot of power), to see to it that you experience yourself as too short, not smart enough, bad at math, and simply an unfortunate sad sack.
Is that what you want? You’ve got to look directly at the mess you’ve put yourself in by accepting ideas that make you feel inferior. You’ve got to be bold! Deny those lies!! Replace them with the truth: You are a rich and majestic child of infinite intelligence … marvelously made and destined to win at whatever you set your mind to. If you set your subconscious mind to proving these lies are true – you win at losing in life and feeling miserable. Is that what you want?
Another piece of the truth about you is this: You are worthy of all that is good and beautiful. This truth is so powerful that when you accept it – it simply blows away the lies that make you feel miserable.
Teacher: Your aim is to become real.
Student: What is the definition of a real person?
Teacher: Look at the above statements written in gold.
If you are to begin the process of accepting the fact of your marvelously made nature, you must look at the lies that give you feelings of low self-esteem … and immediately call an MD on them. You cannot advance to higher stages of creativity if you continue to live with an identity that has you living in misery. WOW, there’s another great statement; let’s hear it again: you cannot advance to higher stages of creativity if you continue to live with an identity that has you living in misery.
Teacher: You need not be chained by the counterfeit-self.
Student: What’s the counterfeit-self ?
Teacher: It’s the self that you created in childhood moments of fear and pain … the self that you created while hearing 60,000 NO’s between age two and five … NO’s that convinced you to accept lies as true … lies that made you feel insecure and inferior.
We are slow to believe that which if believed would threaten our identity; it throws us into a feeling of insecurity. WOW, another big one. One more time: we are slow to believe that which if believed would threaten our identity; it throws us into a feeling of insecurity.
If you are willing to disappear, which is what happens when you drop your false identity … if you are willing to lose yourself, which is what happens when you deny the lies that are the glue to the counterfeit you … if you are willing to let go of the misery, which has some sort of utility for you (you’ve invested a lot of time into it – so it must offer you some gain) … then you will find that true heaven is everywhere, even in the place that you stand right now.
How do you disappear, lose and let go – call an MD time and time again when you hear the ‘sad-sack you’ wailing out in misery. When you bring your misery into your consciousness (stop suppressing it), and face it, you see the foolish utility (the false good) it offers you. Now, by just seeing the insanity of it – it’s easy to call an MD.
Calling an MD begins the cessation of that false version of you (that you deemed was valid and true). The entire root of your misery is that you cannot get outside of yourself (your false version of self), and see the truth.
Right now … jot down anything in your life today that you want to blow away (marriage problems, economic struggles, body pains). Good light and comfort is inwardly revealed to you when you are willing to look at the lies that cause the misery, and call an MD. Call them for what they are – DAMN LIES! They are damn lies because they damn you to a life of misery.
Perhaps you have something you can offer to help all of us understand this lesson deeper? We appreciate your input.
Thank you and blessings
